GARotics project description
GARotics is the follow up experiment of AmLight project.
In an FP7 project a prototype for automated harvesting of green asparagus was developed. The idea of this experiment is to develop and implement technological improvements to the harvesting robotic system; and to conduct experiments of the harvesting system at RIF and under field conditions.
GARotics will improve the automatic harvesting systems for green asparagus by enhancing the quality of the asparagus detection and by increasing the detection rate as well as the harvesting rate. Furthermore, GARotics will present a new gripping mechanism with three robotic arms. In addition, data are collected to support the yield forecast and panning of the next harvest run.
→ Garotics partners who continued the AmLight developments are: STRAUSS, CWS and UNIHB.
